Sponsored Programs
The Kiwanis Club of Midland provides support for two Kiwanis International sponsored youth programs in Midland County.
K-Kids
Since the fall of 2002, elementary students at The Midland Academy of Advanced and Creative Studies have had the opportunity to participate in the student-led service organization. Each year over 40 students attend their bi-weekly meetings held after school. Students from 1st - 5th grades participate in various service projects including can food drives and toy drives for local needy families to participating in Kids Against Hunger project. In keeping with this year's theme of "Staying Safe and Smart", the students will be weighing school backpacks. The Club's annual Pancake Breakfast helps provide funds to support their service projects.
Key Club
Since 2005, students from Midland High School have had the opportunity to become involved in numerous community service projects through their involvement in the Key Club program. With a membership of over 60 students, Key Club members have volunteered as Santa helpers each Christmas at the Midland Santa House, helped with various school carnivals and have given endless hours volunteering at special events with many non-profit organizations. This spring the Midland Key Club will be hosting the Key Club District Convention.
