West Midland Family Center (WMFC)

Jeff Jaster, Executive Director of the WMFC shared an update on some of the MANY programs provided to the community; which now include residents of Isabella and Gratiot counties in addition to Midland County.
These services include senior services, family services, recreation, food & clothing distribution, and licensed childcare programs; through the efforts of ~80 employees, most of which are part-time. Jeff focused primarily on their childcare programs, which our Kiwanis Club has supported for many years.
· WMFC offers licensed programs for kids from 6 weeks old through 12th grade. The childcare program has expanded its capacity to 32 children, focusing on healthy development and family stability.
· For pre-school, they offer a 3’s program with 28 children at the main campus which includes a scholarship program for families in need. Their 4 year-old programs have expanded beyond their campus to Bullock Creek Elementary, Floyd Elementary, Shepherd, and now St. Louis. In total, these preschool programs serve ~130-140 children.
· Another important service provided is before- and after-school programs, which served 58 children in 2025.
Jeff thanked our club and foundation for their continued support of WMFC’s programs, both financially and with volunteers.
